Two of the bands young percussionists have successfully passed their auditions for the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

Charlie Hodge (15) and Justin Strike (14) will be part of the 80-strong National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, made up of some of the finest young talented brass and percussion players in the UK aged 12 to 18. Conducted by Bramwell Tovey, the players are also tutored by some of the country’s leading brass and percussion players. These include John Berryman (cornet), Ben Godfrey (cornet), Sheona White (tenor horn and flugel), David Childs (euphonium), Roger Argente (trombone), Nick Etheridge (tubas) and Mark Landon (percussion).

This Easter, Charlie, Justin and Solo Cornet player Adam Scott, will be performing with the Cornwall Youth Brass Band for their forthcoming Easter Course and Gala Concert. This year's course conductor is Ian Porthouse, Musical Director of the Tredegar Town Band (current British Open Champions).

The CYBB are holding an Open Rehearsal & Audition Day on Saturday 19th April 2014, between 2pm and 4pm. This takes place as part of the Easter Course at Truro High School for Girls.
