Kevin Mackenzie has relinquished his position as musical director of the Camborne Town Band. His difficult decision came after increasing workload and young family meant he couldn’t give the band the commitment he wanted.
Kevin, a former euphonium player with the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, has conducted Camborne Town Band since 2008. During that time he led the band to many contest successes. This includes a 6th and 7th place at the National Finals in 2015 and 2021 respectively, as well as wins at the West of England Bandsmen's Festival and the South West Brass Band Championships. He also conducted the band on their most recent CD which commemorated their 175th anniversary.
The band, committee and supporters would like to sincerely thank Kevin for his unwavering and selfless commitment during his tenure.
