Summer Over - What Next

It's been another successful summer at Camborne Town Band. The weather has been kind to us this year as we celebrate our 175th anniversary where no outdoor events were cancelled.

In June we had an enjoyable concert at The Regal in Redruth with guest artists Dalla, followed by Padstow on the quay and a new engagement in Chacewater where we performed for their proms.

July saw the busiest month with the highlight most definitely being the recording of our new CD which is going to be available at the start of November 2016. We helped the Cornwall Air Ambulance raise money for charity by entertaining guests at their annual ball before playing at our yearly engagement at Constantine Brass on the Grass which is always a great evening. This was followed by a party boat trip from Falmouth then a very hot afternoon performing at Victoria Gardens in Truro. The end of this month saw a new engagement in Branscombe in Devon, which came about from the bands memorable performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015. Branscombe Music Festival made the band feel very welcome with a barbecue and drinks before we performed to around 2000 people including some famous TV actors.

Now into August and The Man Engine was certainly creating a buzz around the whole of Devon & Cornwall. The band were pleased to be involved both at Heartlands in Camborne and Geevor Mine on it's final destination. This proved to be great publicity for us. We then had another very successful joint concert with the Cornwall Symphony Chorus in Redruth. This is only the second time we have done this concert but it has already proved even more popular than last year. We hope to repeat this next year. Our summer season ended with the annual Sea Sunday at Padstow on the Quay.

The band are now looking forward to the release of their new CD and performances at The Regal Theatre, Truro Cathedral, Torquay and once again join forces with St Dennis Band in late November. For more details keep up to date by visiting our events page.

We would genuinely like to thank everyone who continues to support Camborne Town Band.
