Busy Year Ahead for Camborne

2015 is quickly becoming a busy but exciting year for the Camborne Town Band. The band are looking forward to working with Ian Porthouse for the West of England Championships in Torquay in March, and then, for the first time since 1987, the band will be competing at the Grand Shield at the British Open Spring Festival in Blackpool in May, led once again by John Berryman.

The year continues with the annual concert with Johnny Cowling in Falmouth, followed by further concerts in St. Gerrans, Truro and Praze. In July, the band are giving a concert in Congresbury in Somerset, following the success of a Rotary concert in Torquay last year. The following weekend sees the band giving concerts in Tuckingmill Church and the annual Brass on the Grass Concert in Constantine.

After competing at the West of England Bandsmen Festival in Bugle and completing summer engagements, the band will be making a four day trip to France to perform at the Lorient Festival. Finally, to end the year the band will be performing in the show of the very successful film 'Brassed Off' which will run for a week in November.
