Camborne Band Awards 2013

Camborne Royal British Legion hosted the Camborne Band awards during a fund rainsing concert in aid of the National Poppy Appeal last month. The annual awards enabled the band to take a step back and recognise their recent successes – including celebrating their win at the South West Championships back in November.

All of the players have had a strong year but it was great to recognise individual players for outstanding contributions during the last 12 months and we’re pleased to announce the winners as follows:

Players Player of the Year - Joanna Rowe (Flugel)
Best Solo Performance - Charlie Hodge - Yeovil Contest
Bandsman of the Year - Ross Buist (Horn)
Most Improved Payer - Matt Julian (Eb Tuba)
Camborne RBL Shield for Outstanding Contribution - James Sturges (Bb Tuba)
Life Member Award - Angela Netherton
Long Service Award - David Pascoe, Neil Murley and Mark Letcher.

An enjoyable evening was had by all and the band now looks forward to to the rest of the year with verve and enthusiasm.
